There are lots of options for creating content of value

Content marketing is here to stay for the foreseeable future but what does that mean for small to medium-sized businesses? Once you have created your website, blog and general marketing material what else is there?

The good news is there are lots of options for creating content of value to help support your business, whether your goal is to raise awareness, launch a new product or boost overall sales, content can help. Here is a quick rundown of 10 easy content ideas to develop:

1. Infographics
An infographic is simply another way to explain information to customers, using graphics, images and statistics to explain tricky concepts, patterns or findings. So rather than producing a huge long report which no-one will read, you can create a visual version of your information which customers can assess at a glance. There is free software online if you have time to master it, such as Canva. If you aren’t sure how to go about creating an infographic or don't have time, the team at LCM can help.

2. Brochures

A staple for most businesses, brochures still have a role to play in the current digital age, particularly if you make online and interactive versions of them for your website. You don’t need to spend a fortune on print, but a nicely designed brochure on your website which people can flick through virtually can be just as effective. This is meat and drink to the team at LCM so please let us know if we can help.

3. Engaging video

Short videos are ideal for a whole range of communications; think about creating a few which very quickly introduce the company and what you do, which can then be shared across social media channels and hosted on the homepage of your website, as well as on YouTube. Video is an invaluable tool for any business. Links to them can be emailed out as a link to prospects and to help recruit new staff and they don't have to cost the earth to produce. We work with some of the best specialists in this arena so let us know if you need their support.

4. Animation

If you don’t want a traditional video but want to create some interactivity and movement in your content then why not look at using animation – creating a bespoke animated design could make your business stand out from the crowd. There are many great companies who can do this for you, and if you don't have time to find them yourself, we have some great associate companies who would be happy to have an initial chat with you.

5. Landing pages

If you have a specific promotion or offer, just set up a landing page which people can go to for details and to make their enquiry or purchase. Your marketing campaign can drive people to the page via links and adverts. Our team are expert at creating landing pages so let us know if we can help.

6. White papers

Content is a great way to help position your business as an expert so why not carry out a survey or do some desk research on a particular industry issue and produce a white paper on all of the results which you can then use for PR and publish as a valuable asset for customers on your website. White papers are part of our core expertise here at LCM and we would love to help.

7. Leaflets

Another staple for businesses, leaflets have a multiple purpose, whether you give them away at events, have them available for customers to pick up at key contact points, or post them out, they can be an inexpensive piece of content to help promote your services. This is an area of core expertise at LCM so please let us know if we can help.

8. Free giveaways

Giveaways come in many formats from E-books to toolkits, from calculators to cheat sheets. A free giveaway has to be useful, valuable and make them trust that you know what you are talking about so they are more likely to come back to you and spend money the next time they do.

9. Sales emails

Once someone has given you their email in order to download the free giveaway, you need to create a set of sales emails so you can maintain contact and let them know about all of the other products and services you offer. This is a core area of our expertise, so let us know if we can help.

10. Case studies and testimonials

People choose companies through word of mouth or recommendation, so it’s really important to develop testimonials and case studies so prospective customers can hear directly how you have helped other customers in a similar situation. This is part of our core expertise, so let us help.

All businesses want to optimise revenue. Your business strategy will identify ways of driving revenue; your marketing team will generate awareness and leads; your sales team looks at the most effective ways of converting leads to sales, and then your customer service helps to keep customers buying. Another key factor to consider is your brand.

From a young age we grow up immersed at Christmas in a fairy tale world of elves, reindeers and sleighs, and the ubiquitous image of a man in a red suit squeezing himself down our chimneys. As adults we still get excited about the magic of Christmas, the hope it brings and the joy of being a part of something magical.
